Many had great suggestions, and it's been good fun to find out that BIRD SEED was the cause of this unique problem!! Whodda thunk it?!

I just saw this post this morning and had to read through all posts - I just HAD to know what you found out!! Yes - when you asked if there was anything in Flannel that could affect the blade I just blew past that thought. Bird Seed? LOL!! I am so glad you now found the problem. Can not wait tho see the quilt.
