Hmm. I prefer to sew snaps in, I don't like fasteners that attach directly to the fabric, I've had too many experiences with the fabric being cut or wearing a hole at that spot. Especially those dang hook-and-slides for slacks. Whose brilliant idea was it to have those slide thingies poke into a single layer of fabric, instead of being reinforced with interfacing?
However, I seem to remember there is a special tool you can use to attach snaps, I've seen it at Hancock's Fabrics and Joann's. Maybe check into that?
