I use Elmer's glue to glue the batting (warm and natural) to the minkee and the top to the batting. I use the same thread in the top and bobbin. I have never had any problems FMQing using minkee. I always test the tension on a quilt sandwich and if you can, make the presser foot higher so it doesn't push down on the fabric at all. Don't let any of it fall off the sides of your work space. The drag will affect your quilting attempts. I know that others have had good results with quilting with the minkee on top. I'm sure you'll get a lot of good ideas from all the smart people here.
