I haven't ever quilted with Minkee, but when I do FMQ in general, if at all possible I start in the middle and work my way out, regardless of how I've basted. That seems to help prevent puckers better than anything I've tried so far.
I do often glue-baste, usually with at least a few pins as 'extra insurance'.
