The problem with the machine seem to be roughness around the top edge of the tub. The quilt got up over the edge somehow. I suppose from just being too big. The spin cycle drug the quilt around on the rough edge. I am seriously considering a new machine.

As for the fix, I have a plan. I have extra pieces that match the front part that was damaged and extra backing fabric. I will pick out the quilting in about a 9 inch square area and applique the appropriate pieces over the holes and then requilt that area. It won't be perfect, but then again, it wasn't perfect before. I'm not capable of perfect.

It should be done within a week or so. I'll post pictures. Thanks for all the support. Only you all can really understand how I felt when I opened the machine and saw that big hole.
