Yes, but this way as well as jenny Dian's way results in bias edges on the " to be" sewn edges....if I am doing a lot of the I use " triangles on a roll", if just a few I use that right anle ruler mentioned in a previous post...if just one or two. I cut the squares the 1" more instead of 7/8".... I have always really hated crazy fractions!
