I've gotten to where I'll text someone and ask if they've sent me an email. I also inform them I have not recently sent them an email. For example an email from "Kathy Soso", subj Kathy Soso. I won't open it I send to my spam. I do check my junk often in case something has been blocked that I do need to update.
