That is still abouit $700 cheaper than I can buy locally.

Have any Canadian members purchased from AllBrands? Did you have problems with delivery or other problems (damaged goods/ missing items etc.)?
Thanks for your help.

I have purchased a machine from Sew Vac Direct, a US competitor of AllBrands. In addition to any customs fees/duties, be prepared to pay Brokerage fees and a Monetary Conversion Fee if using a Canadian Funds Credit Card (usually 2-3%). All the extra charges are due on delivery except the Monetary Conversion Fees that appear on your credit card statement. Unfortunately, I had a problem with my machine that necessitated returning it to the US for repairs. The company provided me with a RMA (Return Merchandise Authorization) and there were no issues with warranty coverage, but I paid the shipping costs of the return. The repairs were completed quickly and the machine returned to me, but despite having an RMA number and packaging and documentation that clearly indicated my machine was returning to the US for repairs, Canadian Border Services again charged duties/taxes due on delivery and I was never able to get reimbursement for the duplicated taxes/duties.

My experience with this US company and their Customer Service was terrific and the pricing on the machines was far better than anything offered in Canada. My vote is to go for it and enjoy !
