I ordered a surprise box on May 8, and got the "we're running behind" e-mail on May 10. I sent an inquiry on May 13 asking for an approximate ship date, but haven't heard anything back. I agree that they should respond to e-mails within 24-48 hours.
Hopefully it won't be much longer, and that it'll be worth the wait.
FWIW, they haven't charged my debit card as of yet.
