I wouldn't even mind either if the rain was well timed. Fridays seem to be the days for rain lately, and that's when I usually have the most of the roof exposed!
I think there's a good chance that new bobbin case will fit. TFSR.org is one of my favorite sites for sure. That c/y clip didn't look like it was missing on your machine, just different. Perhaps I was looking at it wrong, but that little "arm" on the right of the hook race should take the place of the C/Y clip. There's no screw hole for a clip to hang on.
