Here are some more picture if it helps clear up any not understanding this tool. I didn't really get it until I saw it in person. The wood you see in the first picture below is also the handle. So when the handle is pushed down, those dots attached to the bottom come down and press against the fabric keeping it from moving. Second picture is how you cut a strip. This tool has no measurements on it which is the only reason I haven't been tempted to buy one yet. Hope this helps.
