I see that this question is pretty old, but wanted to respond in case you hadn't purchased a design wall just yet. I have limited space in my home so my hubby took PVC pipe. He made it large but you can cut it down to whatever size you want or have the store cut it for you. He took 4- 8foot lengths and 4 corners to make a large square frame. Then I took some Warm & Natural Batting 96" wide (or you can use felt, sold at Hancock or Joannes) and wrapped the batting around the top pole and sew'd it so it won't slip off and did the same to the bottom pole. When I want to use it, I just hang it on the wall right over my pictures and when I am done, I remove both side poles and roll up the batting onto the top or bottom pole with my project still on it. It keeps everything in place and no wrinkles. I don't have to keep taking it on and off. It stores very nicely under my queen size bed. Hope this helps someone. Kathy P.
