Mine are almost 9" with the first triangles added, and I use a quarter inch foot with a guide. My four patches were exactly 6 1/2", so it doesn't make sense to me. I am not going to worry about it at the moment. I am just going to make my blocks and adjust next weeks clue if I need to-to make it all work out. I don't want to take a chance of losing my points. These were my measurements, too. I used a 7 & 1/2 inch square for the last triangles, which made my blocks with enough seam allowance so that I didn't lose points, but was able to trim to 12 &1/2 ". Whew!! But hope I won't be booed off the train, cause I don't have tons of variety of fabrics, have many repeats, but to me "scrappy" means leftovers and using what you have. I love how these are turning out and am so happy with the pace of the mystery. Just enough to do in a week, without lots of pressure. Will post a pix when all are trimmed and sewn.
