Wool batting ( Dream Wool & Hobbs wool ) are both really nice to work with, washable, less shrinkage than cotton, lightweight but lofty. Also, polyester batting ( dream poly is a wonderful choice) is warmer than cotton, holds in the heat. Using flannel for backings also increases warmth.
