I went to a local bookstore and found a book on quilting/mix textiles. Seems this is exactly what it looks like......no rules...just creativity
. The author used a muslin block foundation and glued her pieces on with a glue stick just to set a placement that she liked. Then she darned the edges of the pieces with her machine. So I guess it comes down to what ever looks pleasing to your eye. I'll give this a try. Thank you
