I just bought a silicone slider mat online. ( 12 x 17 inch) It looks just like the Teflon oven liner. It was around $12-$13 as oppose to much more expensive " Supreme Slider. I figured if I screw it up then I would not have wasted so much money. Have not tried it yet but will use a practice sandwich to see. When I tried w/out any slider the fabric did not move very well and was quite flimsy. Maybe the batting (Pellon Crafting ) was too skinny. I had feed dogs left up as Leah Day suggests . Its just seemed like there was too much grip. I have a newer Babylock Melody and wonder if FMQ works better on vintage machines.
