That product should not react that way. I would first try Steaming my blocks again, maybe without steam and a little more heat. It sounds like maybe the adhesive didn't completely set. (Try it on a different piece or block) Then I would go back to where I purchased it and explain what happened. Perhaps it was on the bolt too long.
