I wouldn't rip it out either. This happens as you build on a new skill. The recipient knows it was stitched with love and that beats perfection any time! Some things to remember: write down stitch width & length so you'll have uniformity, use your needle down position to turn sharp corners; gentle curves can be handled by slowly turning the fabric. Watch Fons & Porter video, u tube videos on machine appliqué. You're really doing a fine job!! Just stay with it!!
