the glue stick is 1000 times faster prep work. I've used it on my last two EPP quilts.
Unless you gob it on the papers come right out with just a little tug.

What I hadn't thought about though, until I got out my Christmas EPP piece which I've never backed or quilted and have used on display for at least 10-12 years, is..if basted, that's ok All the back side seams lay down beautifully and they don't become ravelly.

with the glue stick the back looks pretty rough, although with patience pressing down things nicely can be done, and then flip to the front and press again. It will never be as neat as basted though, because we do the points differently with basted papers.

I baste the fabric only, not through the paper too, as some do.
