I would put a small darker border to frame the quilt (stop the eye) and then you could use a larger border of the beige-ish fabric. You could use whatever size you need to make your quilt larger, but I would probably keep it no larger than the 'pie' piece. If you need it to be bigger than that, then I would consider multiple borders or a border using pie shapes laying in a line (rather than forming a pie). I hope that doesn't sound too confusing. I know what my brain is thinking but not sure it is coming across very well!
