I have a wood shelf where it sits on my sewing tablle. I used 3m velcro stickies...not perfect, but it works pretty well. For my Sweet 16 my hubby built a foot rest which I covered with batting & fabric, stapled the velcro down and used stick on velcro for the bottom of my foot. It works amazingly
