Don't know if there is a rule on which kind of canner to use but when I tried using my pressure canner, I had one heck of a mess. Maybe I didn't leave enough room at the top but decided after the 1st time to go back to using the open water bath. No mess, no fuss.

As to the price Deal's apples are going for this year, have no clue as I'm still wading thru all the applesauce I made 2 years ago. Trying to down size my pantry before doing any more. My mother used to live with me so there was 2 of us eating it but for the past 2 years its only been me and I can only eat so much. Been making a lot of apple crisp though.
