When I do it from my phone, I have to crop/reduce the size of the photo to around 100kb or so. After I do that, I can click the "tree icon", and choose to select a photo from my "computer". That will give me options to select from, I choose my gallery/images and then can select my photo from that file.

If you don't make the file size small enough first, it won't allow you to post the photo.
