Check out the Pfaff Performance 5.2. I have the older version 5.0 but looking forward to trading up eventually. My very first machine was and still is a mechanical Pfaff 262 from the late 60's. My first embroidery machine was a Pfaff 2170 and still have it too. A little outdated for an embroidery machine but still a great machine. Al so have another mechanical Pfaff, the 130. Love to FMQ on that machine but when it comes to bigger quilts I use my latest embroidery/sewing machines. I had a Viking Diamond Deluxe which later on traded for the newest, Viking Diamond Royale. Had it for 3 years, and now have traded it in for the Viking Epic. My dealer sells Pfaff and Viking both, plus Brother. Was in the store yesterday. Both brands have embroidery machines in all price ranges, and yes, IDT on Pfaff is such a plus. If I were you I would test drive many before making a decision. Same dealer use to sell Janome, but discontinued doing so.
