I am also making a 2nd Log Cabin, using all scraps. I discovered this never-ending supply of scraps. I have worked through about half the scraps, and need to make about 20 more blocks--15" blocks.
I would say just to have fun with it. You can make it without foundation paper of foundation fabric. I didn't know that when I made the first one. It is very easy. If you need help with that, just email me at:

I think I will just tie mine, as it gets expensive to have everything machine-quilted by someone else. I have no desire to learn machine quilting, but I think it is beautiful. I understand that most Log Cabins can be tied easily.
