When I come to those intersections, I leave the needle down and tug on the intersection just a bit. Seems to straighten out the fabric and works in that bit of extra to avoid the puckering. I do straight line SID with a walking foot. I second that suggestion to notice that you have put the presser foot lever down if you are FMQing. My expertise with FMQing is not good but I have "best" luck if I leave the feed dogs up so I feel that I have better control of the movement and, even then, my FMQing leaves much to be desired.
