Whatever design you choose to quilt, do something where you will NOT turn the quilt all the time. Doing straight line quilting, all in one direction, will spare your shoulders from a lot of pain, later after quilting. You can roll the quilt sandwich to fit in the machine better and then just sew. BUT start in the center of the quilt and work to the outer edges.
