Thanks, Gay ... and everyone. I seem to have really confused the issue by bringing up Mondrian. I only meant to use him as an example of complexity I'm dealing with, and had no idea so many quilters were into Mondrian-style quilts! Let me show you a small portion of my design, minus the colors. This is maybe 18-in. square. The whole thing is 6-1/2 ft. square, and it all pieced like this. Can THIS be drawn entirely in EQ? There are no rows, no columns. The entire thing is one crazy-complicated block.

Btw, I did just realize that I can export the design as a PDF, open it in a layout program, and save it as a jpg. That only creates an image of the design, so I can't work with it in the layout program, but could I possibly import a jpg into EQ, and "convert" it into an actual working block??
