I'd sash with a 2" or so strip on two sides, then trim the result down so they are all the same size. Then I'd cut a half block of a coordinating solid and put it so that the blocks are offset, so they won't be as evident that they aren't the same size as they don't line up anyway.
That sounds like it would be good also. However, this quilt is already so busy I really don't want to add any more elements to it. I think krafty14's solution will be ok when completed.
