One of my beginner quilts was a feathered star. Not one but nine for a bed quilt. I didn't know how to handle those biased pieces but it turned out pretty good. I also decided to hand quilt it. Did you know you have to stitch thru a lot of fabric when sewing closer than 1/4 from the seams? I finally finished it and am quite proud of the way it is. Not perfect but done.
