My first quilt was McKenna Ryan's Owl quilt. All applique-all 12 blocks. I didn't know how to applique properly, but I made the whole thing, FMQ it and carried it to a wedding in New Zealand to give to my Aunt that lives in Australia that collects owls. She was over the moon for it, I guess that's all that matters. I tend to be one that starts with the hard things first. Cutting all those little pieces got me through a month of sitting with my Dad every day while he was in the hospital. These days I take my little tote with "La Pass" in it for all his appointments! I've come a long way
