I too have dresden plate blocks that I acquired from my deceased sister. She had hand-stitched the patches and also hand-stitched to white blocks. I put together without sashing and like the appearance. I know I should hand quilt but I just can't muster up the energy to do this queen size. I usually tie my quilts with embroidery floss. I'm still considering which method I'll use.
