i don't like the knee lift at all. i can't get it to a comfortable position. (it might be me ... i have always had the same problem with knee lifts.)
i didn't get the special bobbin case for my 8900. it stipples beautifully with the standard case.
you will need to make test "quilts" from big scraps until you find the perfect [for you] tension and free-motion foot adjustments. it won't take you long to figure out which settings work best for you.
