I've made multiple double sided baby and lap quilts which turned out fine. The biggest challenge was aligning them for the quilt sandwich, but hand basting and hand quilting facilitated adjustments of minor size differences. What initially seemed like extra bulk and/or stiffness disappeared with a few washingss. My granddaughter enjoyed her choice of a cats vs princesses top.
