Many of the American Girl doll clothes patterns will fit a fat quarter. The more advanced -- or historical -- patterns require actual yardage. I've definitely become hooked on these, and they are much easier to construct than Barbie clothes, which I made a ton of when my sister was a little girl. I've even bought three of the (knock-off) dolls just so I can have them handy in case I get an attack of something other than quilting.
