I used to use the magazine cards for my hexies until I found a sheet of hexies on the computer that you could copy. There isn't any waste, depending on the size you choose. Then I keep junk mail that is the same size as a regular sheet of typing paper and staple several sheets together with the copy of the hexies on top. I unthread my sewing machine and put in an old sewing machine needle and then sew down the lines. If you use a very small stitch, it makes it easier for them to be torn apart. By the way, I do staple in the middle of several hexies before I start sewing to make sure that the papers don't fall apart while I'm sewing them. This is really fast and you don't have to use any scissors to cut anything. I now have a pile of them whenever I need to use up some scraps. I take them in a small zippered case and it is great to have them when you are waiting for a doctor's appointment or watching TV or any time you have a few minutes to spare.
