Yes, I read up on it but I find that I respond with a much more "reasonable' approach. Many of the new ideas can be handled with tried and true methods. So I review my arsenal of knowledge and "stuff" before I venture into the "OMGthisissocoolIgottahaveit" mode.
For example, the new lighted cutting board. I don't know how long that will hold out with the constant pressure applied when cutting. I'd much rather wait a while and read some reviews. I do NOT need to be the first person to have the new tool.
