We have a Kitchenaide that we bought 19 years ago to replace a fantastic old Kitchenaid from the 70's that stopped working after nearly 30 years. The "new" Kitchenaid takes longer to wash dishes, but it does a great job. We cook a lot and put pots and pans, casserole dishes, etc. in it. They come out very clean. It's very quiet.

The only thing we didn't like about it was that it would start a wash cycle if you accidentally brushed up against it-- but several years ago we finally read the manual and discovered that the little lock icon thing on the control panel will prevent that from happening if you hold it down for a couple of seconds . Now no more accidental wash cycles.

We cook a lot and run it just about every day. Have had a couple of repairs over the years, but nothing major.
