Many years ago my mother was getting a quote to remodel this kitchen. He asked if she had a dishwasher, and she replied, Yes, I have three of them. She didn't get a dishwasher until after we all left home. She also did not get a clothes dryer until after my 2 sisters and I moved out.
I have had a dishwasher most of my married life (46 years). I think there were a couple years when my DH was overseas I lived in an apartment that did not have one. He also grew up without a dishwasher so didn't think it was necessary until we moved into a house with one and we have had one ever since. Our current washer is a Bosch. It works well. Since I don't always run the washer every day I do rinse the dishes before putting them into the washer.
