With all the discussion I think I am going to join you in saving salvages. I have most likely tossed hundreds of pounds of salvages over the years. Reading here gives me a good idea on what to do. I think I would have to be more careful on fabrics going out with swaps however since you want to be exact or better on the dimensions being sent out. Also do you wash the fabric first before cutting to save the salvages?
