I just took apart a quilt sandwich that I spray basted and intended to hand quilt. I had a very difficult time "rocking the needle" and getting good even stitches. I took apart the sandwich and washed the back, soaked and gently rinsed the top and replaced the batting. Going to retry with thread basting. Not an easy decision but a very special quilt. I have spray basted small quilts but nothing this double sized.
