If I put the single hole plate in my machine, I put a sticky note over the button I use to change to zig zag, then I can't "accidently" change my stitch.... unless the sticky falls off of course....
I stick a piece of masking tape on my stitch changing lever, thanks to the woman I spoke to when calling about getting the straight stitch plate. She actually asked me if I was sure I wanted one because if I forgot and switched to zigzag I'd throw my machine's timing off. I'm sure I would have done so without her warning.
