great idea! a local guild (not the one I belong to) meets once a month at a local assisted living center to sew with residents that are interested. They bring in machines, precut fabrics, etc.

One think that might help, besides very good lighting, is someway to thread those needles as many may have vision issues. And don't forget to encourage the guys to attend--even if they are not interested in using sewing machines, they can cut and press--and would likely be interested if you had a die cutting machine!
