I have had to replace the mat twice, but I replaced it the second time with a different brand mat. It works fine, you just have to make sure the dimensions are right and that it is a style you like. I like the numbers to be at the furthest outer edges.
I've seen them use on Craigslist a time or two, so picking one up used is quite possible.
