i am not familiar with HV machines.
what i do know is that unless there is an HV certified service and repair facility near you it might be difficult to get help if anything goes wrong.
the Janome MC8900QCP is a fabulous machine.
it will last for decades with proper care.
i had one and loved it to pieces.
it was hard to part with, but "needs must."
