Thank you copycat, WMUTeach & Sharon luvstoquilt. It's so nice, to have it, really. My youngest has a birthday coming up and I think I may make her a couple for her pens/pencils and other small art tools.

rjwilder, thank you. Yes, she has some wonderful stuff, doesn't she? I liked a few of the patterns I found so I purchased the book with patterns and it was much less expensive if you're fond of a few. It has been wonderful to learn new skills. I did my first zipper and this was my first snap, a magnetic one at that!

I never learned basic sewing because I didn't have anything I really needed/wanted to make other than being too frugal to pay for curtains. LOL I only hand sewed before I moved into a condo that didn't have window coverings...so I borrowed a machine and got some hideous free hand me down fabric and figured it out. Isn't that the way it goes?

But now, it's a pleasure when you have something pretty and practical for yourself. She includes some wonderful hints in the book, I'm not sure if it's the same for the patterns but that's something you can ask her on her site (comfortstitching). The double pocket pouch is different on the site than the book, just so you're aware. Several others are identical. I'm doing the fold overs soon and would like to try the 3 in 1 pouch, too. My daughter might like that 3 in 1 as well. Then the project book and fold over pouch before making another not available on her site.
Just FYI, I read the directions aloud and sometimes several times before I'm sure I have it but am not accustomed to following patterns ever. Even as I go through, I'll say oh, it would be easier if I did this than that. My husband finds it all very amusing. The second one I will try things my way and see if it's more to my strengths/materials. For instance, she often gives directions for using fat quarters, which I get for people who don't buy yardage but instead of cutting separate pieces for binding, I can easily use WOF, just little things like that. She's known for her embroidery and designing fabric so I think to appeal to her fans of various abilities, she's explaining absolutely everything----which I desperately needed. Please let me know if there's anything I can answer for you. I hope you really enjoy the process, I am.
