I went crazy with stencils and pounce pads when making my first attempts at FMQ. Never could get the hang of it and not being able to see the markings was one of many problems. As you wrestle a large quilt through your domestic machine the marks rub off. I seem to remember finding a suggestion about setting with hairspray but I didn’t like the sound of that.....plus didn’t own any hairspray
All my gear is stuffed in a box and at some point I will likely donate it to the thrift store.
