Default Mincemeat Cookie Tradition

My father always loved mincemeat cookies at Christmas. Mincemeat is actually chopped up fruit such as apples and raisins and dates back to the Olde English times. I've continued making them although he passed away many years ago as my husband and daughter-in-law loves them. Always paid less then $7 a jar for it. This year my grocery doesn't carry it. Searching on line, Amazon wants over $26 a jar for it. What?? Found a place called Jacks Country Store that is selling it for almost $16 a jar plus shipping....slightly cheaper for the same item. I broke down and ordered two jars. So the tradition will continue....my fabric buying will be put on hold.
What have you bought that has sky-rocketed in price?
