I had always used the recipe that was on the jar, but they took it off years ago for some reason. I had to sift through my mothers recipe box to find a recipe. However it says to add only 1 1/2 cups of mincemeat, instead I use 1/2 jar to make them extra moist ( dad was toothless in his later years). I put wax paper between the layers of cookies when I store them so they don't stick together. You can use either the regular or the brandy/rum flavored. Guess which one i like better....

3 cups flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp baking soda
1 cups vegetable shortening (Crisco)
1 1/2 cups sugar
3 large eggs
1/2 jar mincemeat
Bake at 400 degrees for 12 minutes

These won't last long as they are super moist and delicious!
But I will be looking up the recipe on allrecipes just to see if I need to have it around for next year.
