Many Japanese manufacturers produced machines "badged" with several different labels. For instance, Happy Sewing Machine made most of Montgomery Wards machines. You will find that many different brands of machines were made by Toyota. No records were kept by the manufacturers as to manufacturing date.
Some Japanese machines have a "JA" or " JC" (or both) number cast on the bottom of the machines that indicate the manufacturer.
